Just because it isn’t easy, doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

Somewhere along the way we’ve been told that if something is hard or strenuous, then it obviously isn’t right for us. I don’t think that anything could be further from the truth. While trying to accomplish anything noteworthy, you will undoubtedly face hard things. It could be people, circumstances, or difficult times in a relationship. Things happen.

Overcoming difficulty is a vital part of leading a life of purpose and accomplishment. Avoiding the hard things will keep you stuck, and take my word for it, frustration will ensue.

Hard work is not the enemy, nothing worthwhile happens without it. Expect resistance and learn to press through it. With every goal or dream there will be challenges and troubles. Overcoming them takes hard work, determination, and a strong commitment to yourself. It takes grit.

It probably won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.

The reality is that your dreams lie on the other side of resistance, and you will be required to do hard things, uncomfortable things, to see them come to pass.  Expect it. Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Don’t run away from challenging circumstances. Lean into them instead. Don’t quit just because a situation appears impossible. During those hard times you are growing and learning the things you will need later on down the path.

You’ll gain confidence every time you see how much you’ve overcome. There is power in climbing the mountain.

Just because you’re living your life with purpose and vision, doesn’t mean that everything will be easy. If it were, then everyone you meet would be living out their dreams. We all know that’s not happening. Why? Look around at all of the precious people you know that aren’t living up to their potential. Many have given up or worse yet, never even started. Don’t let that be you.

Don’t give up your dreams just because something is hard. Hard doesn’t make it impossible. Otherwise, there would be no Olympic athletes, no novelists, and no 50 year marriages. Good things take work. Invest yourself in the process. You were created to do hard things.
